jpnn.comPALEMBANG – A fire broke out in a sandal shop, Jalan Lettu Karim Jaya, Karang Jaya Subdistrict, Gandus Subdistrict Palembang, Tuesday (13/8) afternoon.

The fire is thought to have started from an electrical short circuit in the shop.

Jihan, the shop owner, explained that he received news from his shop employee, Ridwan, that his shop was on fire.

“At that time I was at home, I got news at around half past one from my employee that the shop was on fire,” explained Jihan when met at the scene.

According to information from store employees, the fire first appeared from above.

“So, this fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit, at the time the fire occurred the shop was quiet with no customers,” said Jihan.

The fire was only extinguished at around 14.00 WIB after residents and firefighters struggled to extinguish the fire. As a result of the incident, Jihan suffered losses of around Rp 80 million.

“The total loss cannot be calculated yet, but it is certain to be around IDR 80 million because there is also a warehouse for storing goods behind it,” explained Jihan.

Allegedly due to an electrical short circuit, a sandal shop on Jalan Lettu Karim Jaya, Karang Jaya Subdistrict, Gandus District, Palembang was completely burned down.
