San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, November 9, 2023.- Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla stated that the confidence of the business sector has been recovered in Michoacán as it is a safe and strategic destination for investment and for nearshoring or the relocation of Asian companies.

In his speech at the El Gran Bajío Members Meeting 2023 event, where 200 business leaders participated, the president highlighted the work being carried out with the productive sector to enhance the economic development of the state and the Western and Bajío regions of the country.

«Michoacán plays a fundamental role in the investment route, the port of Lázaro Cárdenas is a world-class hub port and the T-MEC, where one billion dollars from ArcelorMittal have been invested, and in 2024 another 140 million will be added of dollars from APM Terminals, and 220 million dollars from Hutchison Ports in 2024,” he shared.

In addition, the entity has 608 hectares available on Isla de la Palma for the settlement of companies, 384 hectares in the Bajío industrial park, and more than 100 hectares of the ElevaPark park developed by private initiative.

“We have shipping connectivity with 150 ports in the world and the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railway route, which departs from Lázaro Cárdenas to the center and north of the country, to reach the United States,” he commented.

Finally, he said that Michoacán has sufficient water and electrical energy, and the installation of photovoltaic fields is planned for 2,600 hectares for industrial service.

Also participating were the Secretary of Economic Development of the state, Claudio Méndez Fernández; the governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal; and state authorities of Guanajuato and Querétaro.
