Beef export: India with a new move in the current financial year

by time news

India is aiming for huge growth in beef exports in the current financial year. India, the world’s second largest beef exporter, has initiated new measures to achieve growth in the current financial year. As part of this, India has asked Indonesia, a major importing country, to announce relaxation of restrictions. Currently, Indonesia has imposed restrictions on beef imports from India. Imports from India are restricted to one tonne per annum.

Beef from India is imported through the port of Jakarta, located at the southern tip of Indonesia. If import restrictions are relaxed, more beef can be exported to Indonesia. In addition to the concessions on imports, it has also been asked to allow imports through the port of Medan on Indonesia’s north-west coast.
