Actress Rasika Duggal said that she wants to portray the life of late star Meena Kumari on the big screen. In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Rasika said, “I have played the lead role in the biopic because playing such a character is an interesting one. How can you play the character of someone about whom everyone already knows a lot and who also has a different identity.” She said that apart from Meena Kumari, she is also interested in playing the character of Amrita Pritam. It has been a long-standing desire. The actress said, “I hope someone will cast me. But, if there was an actress in the role of Meena Kumari, I think it would be me.” The actress was recently honored at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

Talking about the award, Rasika Duggal said, ‘As an actor, we have to make some difficult choices during our career. One always reconsiders his choices, because there is no scale. She said, ‘I feel that awards like Diversity Champion honour the work I have done so far in my career. It is great and getting such an honour boosts your morale.’ On the importance of box office collection and awards, she said, ‘Neither of these things are in my control. I can only worry about the work that I have control over. How the work is doing at the box office or how much it is being watched. Whatever is out of my control, I cannot do anything about it. It is better that I prove myself as an actor.’ Actress Rasika Duggal said that she definitely gives importance to projects that are watched more. According to her, it gives more options. Which helps her to do projects of her choice.
