‘Beep’ Shin Yu-bin (20) returned to the ‘Top 10’ of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world rankings.

Shin Yu-bin was ranked 10th (2310 points), up one step, in the women’s singles world rankings for the 51st week of 2024 announced by ITTF on the 18th. The ITTF world ranking is determined by adding up the performance of the eight games with the highest points among the competitions played within the past year.

Shin Yu-bin maintained the 10th place until October and then fell one level to 11th place from November 6, but regained the 10th place after 42 days. Shin Yu-bin ranked 9th in the world last July and entered the top 10, with her highest score being 7th.

Shin Yu-bin reached the quarterfinals of the World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions Montpellier and Frankfurt held in October and November. Shin Yu-bin, who added 350 points in both competitions, exchanged rankings with Japan’s Mima Ito (24, 2,190 points), who had previously held 10th place.

Shin Yu-bin participated in the singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles at the Mixed Team World Cup held in Chengdu, China earlier this month and took the lead in finishing as runner-up. However, the number of points in this competition was 73, so it was not reflected in the rankings.

In China, five players, including Sun Yingxia (24, ranked 1st), maintain positions 1 to 5 in the world rankings.
