Beer and snacks on the meadow

HArtisanal, brewed in small quantities, sophisticated in taste and often given imaginative names: craft beers have been a hit for years. The fashion, or rather: the movement that started in America has long since changed the brewing scene in this country and has now arrived in the mainstream. Many of the craft breweries that started out as small start-ups are no longer so small. And the corporations have also discovered the topic for themselves and offer their customers Pale Ale, Amber Ale, Imperial Stout, Porter, Rauchweizen, IPA, Gose, Witbier and other unusual beers. There are now beer shops, beer restaurants and beer festivals all over the country – and in Frankfurt there is the “Naive”. In the restaurant on Fahrgasse, down-to-earth bistro dishes and numerous craft beers are served. And since 2015, the operators have been organizing a “Craft” festival once a year. After a two-year pandemic break, it can take place again this weekend: However, not at the Centennial Hall in Höchst or in the casino on the Westend campus of Goethe University as it used to be, but in a corona-compliant manner on a large meadow right next to the Waldstadion.

Beer aficionados and anyone who likes to drink beer but doesn’t like the usual industrial goods can try something from almost 40 manufacturers and retailers there on Friday and Saturday, July 29 and 30, from 4 p.m. and 2 p.m. to midnight respectively makes a good craft beer. And because the term “Craft” has long been used for other foods and drinks produced using original, non-industrial processes, there are also some winegrowers and distillers among them. In addition, as always, various “street food” providers are present – for the right basis for extensive beer tasting. A day ticket costs twelve euros, the two-day ticket 20 euros (each plus fee).
