Glowing enthusiasm for a spiked Christmas goat: The beer spikes of the Grieskirchner beer sisters have been a good tradition for years. The proceeds support the district TV show Christkind.
CHURCHES. December 1st is now considered “Bierstachel Day” in the district capital. This will also be the case in 2022, because this year the beer sisters again invited to the “traditional heat treatment” of the spicy Christmas buck. In the old custom of beer goading, the cool barley juice is “goaded” with an iron rod previously heated in the open embers. This caramelizes the residual sugar and the beer foam becomes creamy and pleasantly mild.
Nora would like a barrier-free home
A special beer goulash based on a secret recipe and homemade biscuits were also on sale. The proceeds should also benefit needy Grieskirchner families in 2022. And so the beer sisters decided to donate to the district TV show Christkind. With 1,700 euros they help Nora Reisinger from Steegen, who suffers from an incurable metabolic disease. The two-year-old is therefore in a wheelchair, but the house in which she lives with her family is anything but barrier-free. Major renovations are set to change that soon.
