New Delhi: Only a few days are left to file Income Tax Return (ITR). 31st July is the last date. If you have not filed your ITR yet, then file it quickly. But do not be in such a hurry that any information is missed. Actually, while filing ITR, we have to give many types of information related to our income, expenses and investments. The government has information about wherever we earn income, wherever we spend and wherever we invest. This information is available in various types of forms like Form 16, Form 26AS and AIS (Annual Information Statement). These forms are available on the website of the Income Tax Department. One important form among these is AIS.

AIS contains information about your every transaction. In a way, it is an annual report of your every transaction. Before filing ITR, check your AIS and fill in the transaction information which is not in 26AS and is in AIS, while filing ITR so that you can avoid facing the notice of Income Tax Department in future. While information about salary income, tax payment and TDS etc. is already filled in 26AS, AIS contains information about dividend income and interest received from banks and post offices, capital gains from listed shares, share transactions, mutual fund transactions etc.
If you fail to file ITR, you will not only face a penalty but will also face several other losses
