The French series festival Siris Mania today announced the series that will compete in the global competition, and revealed the Israeli representation: “Third Person”, Keshet’s new drama that will air this Monday on Channel 12 – will be screened at the festival as a world premiere and will compete in the international “Panorama” competition. The festival, which is considered among the most prestigious and respected in its field, will be held between March 17 and 24 in the city of Lille in France and will present dozens of series from different countries around the world.

“Third Body” deals with the dramatic relationship between couples applying for surrogacy, and their surrogate. The series was produced by Kuma Studios, created by Shira Haddad, Dror Mishani and Shai Capon (who also directed), and stars Rotem Sela, Yehuda Levy, Lior Raz, Gal Malka, Itai Turgeman, Morris Cohen and Nurit Galron.

Even before it was broadcast in Israel, “Third Person” arouses international interest. Keshet International will officially launch the drama to international broadcasters at the London TV Screening event at the end of the month.

Last year, the series “Bloody Mori” starring Rotem Sela won the best comedy series award at the Siris Mania festival, and Yehuda Levy won the best actor award for his role in the “Fire Dance” series. This year, the two will compete together for the prestigious awards, representing the “Third Body”.

At the Keshet 12 drama launch event, Yehuda Levy told Maariv Online: “A lovely series, about people trying to have a child, a series about relationships, about difficulties, about love, about how far we are willing to go to have a child, What does it take away from us, and what does it add to our lives. It’s a story that must be told, because there are many people who have problems with fertility there and they are having a hard time, and we are opening a kind of platform for them so that people can connect and see that there is no one way, and everything is fine.”

“When I do something, all the characters are in us… there is something in it that is there inside me, all I have to do is shine a light on this specific character that is inside me and give it a little life and pour into it nuances, thoughts and behavior and that’s how a character is built. All the characters I make are in me, in one way or another,” Levy said.

Rotem Sela added about her character: “Eli is a 37-year-old literary editor, who is married to Idan, played by Yehuda, and she has been trying to get pregnant for many years and is unsuccessful, and in the end they decide to turn to surrogacy.”

The actor and creator Lior Raz said: “I’m Tomer, also 37 years old. I’m a director who comes from abroad, who won an Oscar, is very successful, and Eli is the literary editor of my book. I’m shaking her world a bit, in some way.”
