On the day of the match, “Žalgiris” organized light exercises, after which Tautvydas Sabonis, a member of the coaching staff, shared his thoughts about the work already done in the training camp in Turkey.
“We came to the morning training all prepared. Everyone is waiting for that game, the players do what the coach wants. We will see everything in the evening”, explained T. Sabonis.
On Tuesday, the Žalgiris players had two training sessions, during which they worked in separate groups in the gym and continued to refine the nuances of the game on the basketball court.
“It is easy to work with Justin (J.Grainis – post.), everything is ready. Everything is clear, how we, coaches, have to work, what we have to emphasize. I think we are coming in good shape,” the specialist claimed.
In the first match of the “Gloria Cup” tournament, “Zalgiris” will face the Bursa club, where former Zalgiris player Alex Perez and several other basketball players who have played at a high level in European basketball also play.
“We watch and prepare our game more, what we have to do. It’s still a control match here. But, yes, we took a little look at the “Tofaš” club as well”, said T. Sabonis.
