Dubai (14 Sep 2022): Recently 2100 people have been arrested for begging and doing illegal business in Dubai.
Dubai Police has released the number of people arrested in the last six months. Meanwhile, 796 beggars have been arrested and 1,287 illegal street vendors have been arrested.
Out of this, 414 people have been caught through the mobile application called Police Eye. The Policei app is a mechanism for reporting illegal activities to the police. Dubai Police is taking strict measures to avoid beggars and illegal traders.
Police pointed out that begging is illegal in the UAE and poses a threat to public safety. Official charities work to help the poor. Dubai Police said it received 12,000 complaints from January to June this year through the Policei app, which is used to report illegal activities.
