Kuwait City: Police arrested four expatriates who were begging. Three of those arrested are men and one is a woman. Officials informed that they have been handed over to the concerned department for deportation proceedings.
Begging is banned in Kuwait due to law. The Ministry of Home Affairs had informed that a special team under the leadership of the General Administration of Residence Affairs had been formed to find beggars ahead of Ramadan.
Begging is done in mosques and other places with children and women in mind. Authorities have warned that beggars caught in public places will be deported immediately.
