Dubai: Free parking has been announced in Dubai to mark the beginning of the Hijra year. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has announced that parking will be free in the emirate on Saturday, July 30. Free parking on Muharram 1 in all parking areas except multi-storey parking terminals. Public and private sector employees in the UAE have declared an official holiday with pay on Saturday, July 30.

RIYADH: The Supreme Court has said that Saturday will be considered as the first date of Muharram as the new moon is not visible in Saudi Arabia. Muharram 1 is the start of the new year according to the Hijra calendar. The Supreme Court has notified that Muharram – 1, the first day of Hijri year 1444 as per Ummul Qura calendar, will be on Saturday, July 30, as new moon is not visible on Thursday.
According to the Hijri calendar, Friday (July 29) is Dhul-Hajj 30. Today is the last day of Hijra year 1443. Various Gulf countries have declared a holiday to coincide with the beginning of the Hijra year.

Abu Dhabi pharmacies now have covid vaccine and PCR test
Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Health Department has announced that the Covid vaccine and PCR tests will now be available at pharmacies in Abu Dhabi. The covid vaccine will be free. The PCR test will cost 40 dirhams. This system came into existence.
With the new decision, people can use such services more conveniently. Anyone who has completed 18 years of age can receive the covid vaccine. Officials informed that vaccines needed for flu, travel etc. will be made available soon.
After completing the courses provided by the DOH, many pharmacies moved into dispensing vaccines. The health department has also given permission for this along with the license.
