And heroic-ish efforts notwithstanding, it was still the Mummy who received the fewest favorite markings and had to remove the bandage mask.
Which turned out to be none other than the host and legend Abu Hussain.
I bet Abu could have created many epic moments in the coming Saturdays, had he stayed. At the same time, he seemed quite relieved to be eliminated.
A friendly reminder to all participants: do not choose a song you are afraid to perform without a mask. It will just be uncomfortable for everyone – haha.
I assume that we will also this year prefer to vote for the masks with the best voices.
Which is fine, but let us not forget song choice, entertainment factor, and not least: potential.
If you are not a professional artist, singing live can throw even the most confident entertainer off (just ask Mads Hansen/Rotta from last season).
Keeping track of all the hints is not easy. Often it is the small details that reveal the answers we are all searching for.
I hope we can also learn to appreciate what is really terrible, but still gives us something to laugh at.
The hints seem at first glance to be harder this year, and helped an inexperienced online detective with a long reaction time almost nothing.
I am utterly disappointed that neither Trond Giske nor Magnus Carlsen fit any of the profiles, but beyond that I have a good suspicion that we have both Tone Damli, Emilie Nereng, and Kim Wigaard among this year’s masks.
But patience is a virtue, and I will make sure to read up on all the hints and tips out there before the next broadcast.
My name is Linnéa Myhre, and I have been tasked with being NRK.no’s online detective during this year’s Maskorama. Last year I was part of the circus behind the Spirrevippen mask.
Reviews of the performances:
Stone
- Elton John – “I’m Still Standing”
Stone performs “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John in Maskorama.
Wow, what a firework of an opening!
Lovely song choice that shifts from calm to fun, and there is something very comedic about a singing stone face. From the letters in the hint video, I immediately thought of Paradise Hotel, but I doubt a Paradise participant has ever sung this well.
This is obviously a young/old trooper, and I suspect we have seen him on a big stage before.
The Mummy
The Mummy performs “Circle of Life” (Lion King) in Maskorama.
Haha, what did I just see?
I can’t decide whether this mask is cute or creepy. The only thing I’m sure of is that it looks very tight, and is most likely terribly clammy and difficult to sing in.
The person behind it is, in any case, a true legend. The performance itself could have been worse – but also better, and the energy level is lower than the resting heart rate of triple-G.
Even though I sincerely wished it were Gaute Grøtta Grav.
The Musk Ox
- Justin Timberlake – ”Like I Love You”
The Musk Ox performs “Like I Love You” by Justin Timberlake in Maskorama.
I was sure that the Musk Ox would be a rocking superstar, and in my mind, it was between Carina Dahl, Åge Sten Nilsen, and Fritz Aanes.
A bit fragile and at times breathless, but I applaud this song choice.
The youngest probably don’t understand a thing, but I really hope the Musk Ox gets the chance to shine for many weeks to come.
The Happy Fish
- Michael Bublé – “Feeling Good”
The Happy Fish performs “Feeling Good” by Michael Bublé in Maskorama.
I love the Happy Fish; it looks both cute, nice, and dumb at the same time.
I had really hoped it would be Magnus Carlsen or Per Sandberg, but of course, one throws those theories out the window after hearing this power demonstration.
Strong song to start with, showing confidence, experience, and vocal control.
Most likely a woman who has been on stage before.
Perhaps especially an Idol stage.
Okay, I’ll just say it: if this isn’t Tone Damli, I’ll drink the entire Atlantic Ocean.
The Food Monster
- DJ MøMø, Hagle – “Hæljetur”
The Food Monster performs “Hæljetur” by DJ MøMø and Hagle in Maskorama.
Here they will freestyle for the youngest audience, yes, with a song many children will surely love to hear.
However, this means that behind the mask is either a parent who has unintentionally caught this mind-numbing song, or a very cynical childless person willing to go “all in”.
I also love this costume and feel hungry watching it. Not immediately hungry to see the number again, but a good start.
The Vampire
The Vampire performs “Murder On The Dancefloor” by Sophie Ellis-Bextor in Maskorama.
What an iconic song choice!
An almost 25-year-old gem that had a revival last year in the film “Saltburn,” and now through the sweet but slightly creepy Vampire.
So, is it former blogger and pop star Emilie “Voe” Nereng, or? If so: What a comeback!
The Professor
- Käärijä – “Cha Cha Cha”
The Professor performs “ChaChaCha” by Käärijä in Maskorama.
This song choice is almost not okay. Here we’re talking Finnish Eurovision entry on acid, but I love it.
This is art for me.
Visually, the Professor resembles last year’s Magician, who had to take his wand and leave the competition first due to a somewhat underwhelming performance.
However, I hope the Professor does not suffer the same fate, as this is the WTF moment we needed. It gives a very “fire with ADHD” vibe, type unmedicated.
Nicolay Ramm, or? Who else can rap in Finnish with the greatest confidence?

I’m sorry, but it seems like the text you’ve provided is incomplete or cut off. However, I can see that it pertains to an episode of Maskorama, featuring performances and discussions about various characters like the Happy Fish, Food Monster, Vampire, and Professor.
Michael Bublé performs as one of the characters, and there are strong guesses about who might be behind the masks based on their performances and vocal abilities. The content also highlights the fun and excitement of the show, along with some references to past music and potential celebrity identities.
If you have specific questions or need further analysis about any part of Maskorama, the characters, or the music choices, feel free to ask!
