The U.S. decision comes as a result of China’s inhumane treatment of Uyghur Muslims. The United States views the Uyghur massacre as a crime against humanity. These actions are reminiscent of US defenses during the Cold War.
However, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told the media that only US diplomats would boycott the Olympics and that athletes would be allowed to participate in the Olympics.
