The United States should “stop arming Taiwan and support the peaceful reunification of China,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a meeting with U.S. National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan in Beijing. Taiwan “belongs to China and will be reunified,” Wang added, confirming the Chinese Communist Party’s goal of reunification by 2049, the centenary year of the People’s Republic of China.
