Washington: The United States is considering boycotting a summit of government officials for next year’s Winter Olympics in China.

The Winter Olympics are set to take place in Beijing, China from February 4-20, next year. The United States sends a delegation of high-ranking officials to the countries where the Olympics are usually held. A group of dignitaries led by Jill Biden, the wife of US President Joe Biden, went to this year’s Tokyo Olympics.

Doug Imhab, husband of US Vice President Kamala Harris, led the delegation to the Paralympic Games. Like ‘Will the US send a high-level delegation to China’s Winter Olympics?’ As such, President Joe Biden was asked by reporters.

“We are considering boycotting the summit without sending a team to the Winter Olympics,” said Joe Biden. However, he added that the United States would send athletes to the Olympics.

‘International organizations have urged the United States to boycott the Beijing Winter Olympics in protest of the persecution of Uyghur Muslims in China and the controversial National Security Act in Hong Kong.
