After several months of rumors about the divorce of Jennifer Lopez and actor Ben Affleck, and after its confirmation last August of this year, the singer has given her first statements after having remained on the sidelines and dedicated herself to herself and her children .
In the middle of a chat with comedian Nikki Glaser, the ‘Let’s Get Loud’ singer spoke about the challenges she has had to face throughout this year and her recovery and healing process after two years of marriage to Affleck .
Although the singer made a small appearance at the American Music Awards on October 6, it was this publication where she opened her heart.
During their conversation, he admitted that this “new territory” is “lonely, unfamiliar” and that it “scares” him; he also described it as “sad” and “desperate.” However, he made it clear that “being in a relationship does not make him defines as a person.”
“When you face those feelings and say, ‘This isn’t going to kill me,’ you think, ‘Actually, I’m capable of being joyful and happy on my own,'” Jennifer Lopez said.
She is also clear that happiness is not sought in other people, but must be found in herself. Likewise, she admitted that she is a romantic who loves “being in a relationship and growing with someone,” but she already understood that one can also grow with oneself and be “happy” and “complete” in the same way.
Rumors about their separation began when People magazine indicated that the actor had not spent the night in the mansion they bought together in the Beverly Hills area for several days.
These rumors intensified further when the couple was not seen together for weeks and did not appear at the MET Gala on May 6.
