They are planning to open an additive technology center in Belarus. The corporation will participate in the implementation of the project “Rosatom», reported Belta agency with reference to the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic Mikhail Mikhadyuk.

“Belarus’ cooperation with Rosatom does not end with the commissioning of the Belarusian NPP. <...> And now the government has set the task of creating, together with Rosatom, a center for additive technologies in our country,” Mikhadyuk said at a public hearing before issuing a license to operate the second power unit of the Belarusian NPP.

The official explained that the republic is cooperating with the Russian state corporation in two areas. The first is related to the development of nuclear energy: maintenance of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, fuel supply and nuclear waste management.

The second direction includes many other areas, including research work in the field of nuclear medicine and the production of medical equipment, as well as digitalization, improvement of energy storage systems, telecommunication systems, as well as the modernization of Belarusian industrial enterprises using additive technologies and composite materials .

The Deputy Minister of Energy of Belarus added that the republic is considering the possibility of building a second nuclear power plant or a third power unit at an existing nuclear power plant.

On September 2, the director of the Rosatom country office, Stanislav Levitsky, announced the development of a comprehensive program of cooperation with the government of the republic. He noted that the state corporation, together with Belarusian partners, plans to create new production facilities and organize the sale of high-tech products abroad.
