Moscow: Neighboring Belarus has claimed that it shot down a missile that entered its border from Ukraine. This has doubled the concern that Belarus, Russia’s ally, will be a direct participant in the invasion of Ukraine.
President Alexander Lukashenko ordered an urgent investigation into the incident. Yesterday between 10 am and 11 am local time, Ukraine’s S-300 missile entered the border. The Belarusian presidential sources first released via telegram that the missile had landed in the country.
But the Ministry of Defense of Belarus stated that the missile that fell in the Brist region was shot down by its air defense system. The Ministry of Defense has stated that there is no need to worry. Following the incident, the Ukrainian ambassador was summoned by Belarus authorities.
There is a possibility that the missile will miss the target. Belarus has come forward with the accusation amid news that Russia is constantly pressuring it to invade Ukraine.
Russia started its invasion of Ukraine by invading from the border with Belarus. The Western countries are accusing Russia of trying to add Belarus to its side in the context of the current backlash in Ukraine.
