The Storm Ultras, one of Charleroi’s main groups, were dressed as rat exterminators and unfurled a banner reading “rat extermination”.
In the days leading up to the match, they had already launched hostilities on social media, comparing their Standard counterparts to rats. “After the floods, and even more so since the work on the tram accelerated in Liège, the rats are out. The people of Liège who walk during the day or in the evening in the streets of the Cité Ardente have noticed it, ”they wrote in particular.
On the Standard side, the indignation was strong: “Charleroi “supporters” threw dead rats in the direction of T2. We are not talking about one or two rats but easily about ten. We hope that the Pro League will act, that our club will file a complaint and that animal associations will get involved, ”we wrote on a Facebook page of Standard supporters. “Spectators hooded and dressed in pest control outfits threw these rats in the direction of T2, a stand occupied by families and people with reduced mobility,” said “disgusted”, a Standard supporter on RTL television. tv.
The Standard de Liège club, which confirmed these incidents, could take the matter to the authorities of the Jupiter Pro League.
