Beloved Comedian and Actress Erica Ash Passes Away at 46 After Courageous Battle with Cancer

Erica Ash, actress and comedian known for her roles in the satirical reality show Real Husbands of Hollywood and the comedy show Mad TV, passed away in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 28. This was confirmed by her mother, Diann Ash, who explained that her daughter died due to cancer.

 

In Italy, Ash was mainly known for her role in Scary Movie V.

 

The Death of Erica Ash

Erica Ash’s family confirmed her death. Her mother, Diann, paid tribute to her daughter with a statement on social media: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend Erica Chantal Ash (1977-2024). After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Erica was an extraordinary woman and a talented entertainer, who touched countless lives with her humor, wit, and genuine joy for life. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts.”

The Career

Erica Ash had been in the spotlight since the 2000s, when she debuted as a regular cast member on comedy shows where she portrayed characters like Michelle Obama and Condoleezza Rice.

 

In Scary Movie V, she played the role of Kendra Brooks.

 

She also appeared in 19 episodes of Real Husbands of Hollywood, but her most famous role was in the TV series Survivor’s Remorse. Here, she portrayed Mary Charles Calloway (M-Chuck), the half-sister of professional basketball player Cam Calloway (Jessie T. Usher), who moves his family to Atlanta after signing a major contract.

 

Joining the cast of MADtv in 2008 for its 14th and final season, she delivered hilarious performances as Naomi Campbell, Whoopi Goldberg, and Lisa Leslie.
