The statement from the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni

Upon learning about Dani Katranidis’s loss, Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni made the following statement:

Dani Katranidis was a great actor who leaves behind a distinct mark, fully utilizing his talent and perfecting his expressive means. He gifted us, in a career spanning fifty years, significant theatrical performances across a vast repertoire. The ease with which he served the most demanding roles, along with the naturalness with which he asserted his presence on stage, captivating the audience, concealed a gift that was cultivated with dedication and continuous work. His selective appearances in film and television confirmed his stamp as a significant interpreter.

Dani Katranidis earned the love and respect of his peers and the large public. It is worth remembering his other sides, such as his solidarity, with numerous colleagues, for democracy in the 1974 referendum, which revealed his sensitivity as a citizen.

I extend my sincerest condolences to his family, his many friends, and his fellow artists.
