Demi Georgiou, who became particularly beloved from her participation in MasterChef in 2020, standing out for her cooking skills, passed away at the age of 39.
It was then that she famously stated on the MasterChef camera that she wanted to become the first female vegan MasterChef.
A little while after her participation in MasterChef, Demi Georgiou made a personal confession about the crisis in her marriage with her ex-wife, Alkisti Alexandratou.
The news of the beloved chef’s passing has caused great sadness, with many of the people who knew her paying tribute to Demi Georgiou.
Just a few weeks ago, Demi Georgiou had defined happiness to a close friend. “Happiness is my wife, my cats, my dog, and a sunset,” Demi Georgiou noted characteristically.

The beloved chef Demi Georgiou, who worked in Paros where she suffered from an acute bacterial infection, shared photos of the dishes she prepared on the island and personal moments with her online friends on Instagram.
“Food is art, and food is love. And we should show love and respect for those who prepare it, enjoying it,” Demi Georgiou wrote in one of her last posts.
In her last post, Demi Georgiou captured one of her dishes, accompanying the post with the comment “fresh, handmade, so simply deliciously minimalist.” In another of her posts, where she seemed to be sharing her food, the famous chef noted that “the people who give you their food are giving you their heart.”
Her Personal Life and Cohabitation Agreement
Demi Georgiou had entered into a cohabitation agreement with her partner and had even proposed marriage, wanting to marry in a church. “When I was around 6, I was in love with my teacher,” she revealed in one of her last interviews. “I never had the chance to feel inferior about my sexuality,” she noted characteristically.
“I lost my dad early, so my mom was a bit more of a cuddly mom. So I didn’t feel inferior from my mom either. In general, I have not felt inferior. It’s the laws that make me feel inferior,” Demi Georgiou added. Commenting on the bill for same-sex couples, Demi Georgiou noted that she wants to go to a church with her partner.
“I want to go to a little church, to dress up like a bride, I do not understand why I cannot. I do not want to marry in a town hall, I want to marry in a little church. The bill is a small step, steps become big,” she commented characteristically. “It’s like they give us a small bait. I just think that nothing will change. Slowly, gradually, people will understand their values and will go as they wish,” the beloved chef added.
Referring to her personal life, Demi Georgiou revealed that she had entered into a cohabitation agreement with her partner. “We are doing well, and the marriage proposal has been made in London,” Demi Georgiou revealed. “I do not feel sad, I feel disappointed by a half bill,” emphasized the famous chef.
