Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir said this evening (Sunday) that “the decision to summon Corporal Meir Suisa along with other police officers for investigation sends a very bad message of lack of backing for Israel Police officers.”
Minister Ben Gabir also said: “With this decision, MHS turns itself into a political body.” When it was about Godfather’s loved ones, they texted the case, and when it was about anarchist demonstrators blocking main traffic arteries and breaking fences – they called the police for an investigation.
If it was a demonstration by ultra-Orthodox or Ethiopians, we would not even hear a mention of it.
I support Corporal Meir Suissa and all the Israel Police officers who face very difficult challenges all year round and even more so during this period in order to maintain the security of the residents of the State of Israel.’
