The veteran musician Ben Sidran will return to Girona on the celebration tour of his eightieth birthday. Sidran (Chicago, 1943) he was a regular on the Sunset Jazz Club lineup until the pandemic and now plans to return there on May 20, in a tour that he takes it to some of the clubs where he has spent the most in recent yearss. The good reception of his return to Girona, they explain from Sunset, has forced him to schedule a second performance, so next Saturday he will perform at 8 and 10 in the evening. He will be accompanied by Leo Sidran (vocals, drums), Bill McHenry on sax and Tom Warbuton on double bass.

Sidran, which in addition to composer, keyboardist and singer is producer and music journalistcan boast of having played keyboards on the Rolling Stones’ first album and of having composed some of the Steve Miller Band’s most popular songs.

To celebrate the anniversary, the musician has also released the book/songbook The Songs of Ben Sidran, 1970-2020-Vol 1, which contains stories, images, scores and lyrics of 56 of his compositions. Each copy of this limited edition is numbered and signed, and will be on sale at the concerts of this 80th Birthday Parade tour.
