Bengaluru city is flooded due to incessant rains. Information technology companies have reported that they have incurred a loss of crores of rupees due to this. In this case, many software employees are traveling to the office in a tractor. Rs.50 is collected from each person and tractors are used as special transport vehicles there.
Many low-lying areas are flooded and people are unable to leave their homes. Normal life has come to a complete standstill as many lakes are overflowing and storm drains are overflowing. Students and office goers traveled in boats and tractors in areas like Rainbow Drive Lay Out, Sunny Brooks Lay Out, Sarjapur Road. Same is the case in many parts of Ring Road where there are many IT companies. IT companies say that the ongoing floods have caused a loss of several crores of rupees.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bummy has ordered the dispatch of disaster management teams as Mahdevapura and Bommanahalli areas are the most affected. He also said that he has ordered the authorities to remove the accumulated rainwater from the roads. Meanwhile, the Water Supply and Sewerage Board has informed that the water supply will be affected for 2 days due to flooding in the area that supplies drinking water to Bengaluru.
Amidst all this, software company employees are being advised to come to work. Due to this, the employees of a software company in Yemalur are traveling to the office in a tractor. Those employees who say that they don’t give much leave in the office and this affects their work, are waiting for tractors and traveling. Local residents said that tractor drivers take Rs 50 from each person for each journey.
