A member of the Libyan Football Forum Committee, Counselor Ezz al-Din al-Gharabi, stated that preparations are being made to organize a Libyan Football Forum in the city of Benghazi, after Eid al-Fitr, under the name “Libyan Football, Reality and Hope.”
Al-Gharabi added to the newspaper “Al-Anbaa Al-Libya”: The forum aims to bring together Libyan football figures from various parts of the country, to discuss ways to develop the game, combat the phenomenon of fanaticism and hooliganism in stadiums, contribute to national reconciliation, and discuss all sporting, cultural and social aspects of the game.
Regarding the forum’s activities, Al-Gharabi said: It will include a scientific symposium to present research papers on the development of Libyan football, civil visits to some administrative facilities, and an exhibition match for veteran football players.
The head of the forum’s media committee, Zain al-Abidine Barkan, confirmed that the forum aims to add a significant impact on Libyan football, by inviting sports experts from academics, media professionals, coaches, administrators and referees interested in Libyan football to participate in the forum.
The forum will last for three days. The first day includes a scientific symposium in the morning and evening, in which research papers will be presented. The second day includes civil visits, and the third day is an exhibition match, during which important recommendations will be produced to be presented to the competent authorities for the development of Libyan football.
