This unwavering commitment has resulted in a range of actions and interventions aimed primarily at improving the conditions of care for pregnant women and raising awareness of good maternity practices (breastfeeding, nutrition, etc.) in order to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
It is with this in mind that the health sector occupies a prominent place in the interventions of the INDH in the province of Rehamna, particularly during phase III of this large-scale project.
Indeed, the Reproductive Health Reference Center (CRSR) in Benguerir aims to be an illustration of these significant efforts made to ensure equitable access to quality health services, particularly for the benefit of mothers and children.
In a statement to MAP, Dr. Sarah Idben Yahya, indicated that this level 2 health center offers important services in the areas of reproductive health, family planning and early detection of breast and cervical cancer, thanks to new generation equipment.
He added that this structure targets women aged 40 to 69 for early detection of breast cancer and those aged 30 to 49 for early detection of cervical cancer.
Women therefore benefit from various services, including a mammogram, an ultrasound scan and a colonoscopy examination, or, if necessary, the taking of a sample for analysis.
For their part, beneficiary women welcomed the creation of this Reference Center for Reproductive Health in Benguerir, which facilitated their access to quality medical services, while avoiding them having to travel to reproductive health structures in Marrakech.
This health infrastructure includes reception and waiting areas, consultation and sterilization rooms, a mammography room, a colposcopy room, an administrative management office with a pharmacy, a meeting and training room and a room dedicated to health awareness and education.
The CRSR has a staff including a general practitioner, two gynecologists, two radiologists, two midwives, a multi-skilled nurse, a radiology technician, a social worker and two receptionists.
In addition to medical services for women at the provincial level, the Center also provides continuing training in reproductive health for health executives.
In addition, the CRSR organizes awareness campaigns on the importance of early detection and prevention of breast and cervical cancer, in addition to the participation of the Center’s staff in several medical caravans across the province for the benefit of a significant number of women.
