Beni Mellal: Ceremony in honor of Safae Malki, winner of the National Prize for the best budding storyteller

Organized in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) of Béni Mellal-Khénifra, this ceremony, which was enhanced by the presence, in particular, of the Secretary General of the Wilaya of the region, the Director of AREF, directors, professors and executives of educational establishments in the region, honors the exceptional career of the student Safae Malki of Fkih Ben Salah who particularly distinguished herself during the 21st edition of the International Festival “Maroc des contes” organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Organized in commemoration of Eid Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi Acharif, this ceremony aims to promote human and religious values ​​of tolerance among the rising generations while encouraging them to demonstrate their strongest attachment to the foundation of national values ​​and traditions.

On this occasion, the 8th intangible cultural heritage caravan was launched under the theme “The preservation and enhancement of heritage as a national constant” with the aim of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage and traditions of the Middle Atlas.

Speaking on this occasion, the president of the International Academy “Morocco Storytelling for Intangible Cultural Heritage”, Najima Thay Thay said that the organization of this 8th caravan in commemoration of Eid Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi Acharif is intended to be an opportunity to promote national values ​​among the younger generations, noting that it is an opportunity to instill in these young people the imperative of preserving cultural heritage and national traditions.

This event aims to contribute to spreading the culture of tolerance and middle ground among the young as national constants, she said, noting that such events cut short rigorous religious ideas.

She praised the distinguished career of the young Safae Malki, winner of the National Prize for Best Budding Storyteller, who particularly distinguished herself through her presence and her mastery of the art of storytelling.

For his part, the director of AREF, Mustapha Slifani, was delighted with the achievement of this little girl, saluting the efforts of the International Academy “Morocco Storytelling for Intangible Cultural Heritage” in support of the education and training system and the promotion of national values.

At the end of this ceremony, a warm tribute was paid to several players in the regional educational ecosystem in recognition of their efforts to promote culture and the arts.

Student Safae Malki stole the show at the 21st edition of the International Festival “Maroc des contes” in which 180 Moroccan and foreign storytellers took part. Representing the province of Fkih Ben Salah, Safae, aged just 8, clearly stood out in the category of young storytellers by winning this award.

The international festival “Morocco of Tales” aims to build bridges of communication between the peoples and civilizations of the Earth through folk tales, legends and myths, and to promote the cultural depth that unites different races, nationalities and cultures under one roof, namely the roof of culture, knowledge and speech.

The Morocco Storytelling International Academy for Intangible Cultural Heritage works to train, qualify and develop the capacities and skills of young talents interested in the art of storytelling.
