Beni Mellal: Focus on opportunities for academic and cultural exchanges between Morocco and the United States
Beni Mellal – Opportunities for academic and cultural exchanges between students from the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region and their American peers were presented on Tuesday in Beni Mellal, during a visit by the Consul General of the United States in Casablanca, Marissa Scott.
During this visit, the opportunities and exchange programs between Moroccan students and their American counterparts were dissected in front of an audience of teachers and students from the Sultan Moulay Slimane University of Beni Mellal.
On this occasion, the Consul General of the United States in Casablanca presented the various programs set up by the United States Embassy offering the opportunity to young Moroccan students to engage in a cultural exchange with their American peers.
The Consul General stressed that the participation of Moroccan students in these academic exchange programs is tangible proof of the fruitful cultural partnership between the Kingdom and the United States.
Subsequently, the Consul General of the United States in Casablanca learned about the significant potential of the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region before going to the Sanad cooperative where she learned about the significant potential of rural women operating in the regional cooperative sector.
In a statement to MAP, the Consul General of the United States in Casablanca explained that this visit is to celebrate the great work carried out by the women of the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region who contribute to the achievement of the expected development, noting that this visit was an opportunity to discover up close the various tourist and ecological assets as well as the growth opportunities offered by women in cooperatives.
For her part, the president of the Sanad cooperative, Amina Majdi recalled that this visit constitutes a source of motivation for the dozens of women working in agricultural cooperatives, specifying that she is one of the many women who benefited from a cultural stay as part of an American exchange program which allowed her to take full advantage of successful experiences in this field.
