The Beni Mellal-Khénifra region, aware of the importance of business creation as a main driver for economic and social development, has shown its commitment to efforts aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and SMEs by also financing 2,099 companies under the FORSA program, said Mr. El Hebil, who was speaking on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the 2nd edition of the Regional Odysseys of Entrepreneurship, which took place under the theme, “the new investment charter: What jobs for the future and upscaling for the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region?”.

In the same dynamic, Phase III of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) was able to provide pre-creation support to 2,132 companies, and post-creation support to 531 companies, the Wali of the region also welcomed, noting that to promote these different support mechanisms, regional actors launched the IZIDHAR program, which aims to pool and harmonize the efforts of organizations in charge of supporting VSEs, around a clear and coherent support offer.

The CRI also launched in October 2022, a program to strengthen support mechanisms at the regional level, in collaboration with the National Company for Guarantee and Financing of Enterprises, and which enabled the submission of 781 INTELAKA financing application files at the various local banks, supported the Wali, recalling that all of these programs and mechanisms can only have a concrete and positive impact if there are entrepreneurs capable of innovating, taking the initiative and meeting the challenges of entrepreneurship.

He specified that the region is experiencing significant economic momentum in recent years, at the level of the majority of macroeconomic indicators, before emphasizing that this entrepreneurial momentum results annually in the creation of more than 3,500 companies with an average annual growth of nearly 4% per year, over the period 2018-2022, i.e. 4 times the growth rate of companies created at the national level.

Organized by the Béni Mellal-Khénifra Regional Investment Center, Sultan Moulay Slimane University (USMS), the Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT) and the Inclusive Socio-Economic Development Project in Béni Mellal-Khénifra (ISED-BMK-USAID), the ORE is a major event dedicated to self-employed students which essentially aims to promote the entrepreneurial spirit and business culture among the 50,000 students of Sultan Moulay Slimane University and 25,000 OFPPT trainees, in addition to students and trainees from private training in the region through the development of their entrepreneurial skills and the capacities necessary to set up and manage their business creation projects.

At the end of this ceremony, the prizes were awarded to the winners sponsored in particular by Crédit Agricole du Maroc, Attijariwafa Bank, Bank Of Africa, and Station A. The projects selected to benefit from the financing provided by ISED-BMK financed by USAID were also declared, which mobilized a fund of more than 3 million dirhams to finance the viable projects of the winners of the various editions of the Regional Entrepreneurship Odysseys.
