Benjamin Netanyahu Agrees to Ceasefire in Gaza Strip During Hostage Negotiations: Report

by time news

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Agreed to lay down the fire in the Gaza Strip, between the stages of the deal to release hostages from Hamas captivity, and did so without informing the members of the War Cabinet in advance, it was reported this morning (Wednesday) on Network B. Qatar was the one who asked to besiege the fire in the Strip during the progress between the stages, so that the negotiations between the parties could continue.

According to the report, Prime Minister Netanyahu approved the request after having a conversation with the head of the Mossad, Dedi Barnea, when the latter was at a summit in Paris, which dealt with the outline of a deal for the release of the abductees. According to sources privy to the details, members of the War Cabinet received an update on this only after the Prime Minister’s approval. The Prime Minister’s Office responded: “The Prime Minister’s directive to the head of the Mossad is permanent – share with all the members of the War Cabinet and get their comments.”

The terrorist organization announced last night that it rejected the outline of the hostage deal formulated at the summit in Paris, and returned to demanding the cessation of fighting, and “the lifting of the siege on Gaza”. The announcement came shortly after the Prime Minister of Qatar addressed it, during a press conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Doha. The Mossad stated: “Hamas’ answer was forwarded by the Qatari mediator to the Mossad and its details are being studied in depth by all the parties involved in the negotiations.”

Also, Hamas once again demanded the release of all security prisoners held in Israel and the return of all Gaza residents to their place. In addition, the terrorist organization thanked Egypt and Qatar for their involvement in the talks. Israeli officials said in response that “Hamas has said its word and it is – ‘No’. Israel will not accept the end of the war as a condition of the deal.”
