Benslimane Oak Festival: a trade fair highlights the diversity of local products from the province

This exhibition, which highlights some of the region’s socio-economic projects, is organized under the theme “Benslimane: A global destination for the future”, and initiated by the Ouled Chaouia Foundation, in partnership with the prefecture of the province of Benslimane, the municipal council, and with the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Department of Culture and the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council.

“The exhibition is intended to be an opportunity to highlight various types of natural products produced by local agricultural cooperatives, such as essential oils, honey and couscous,” the Foundation’s president, Kamal Chamsi, said in a statement to MAP, noting that it also provides a space for the exchange of experiences between exhibitors.

He added: “The festival program, which coincides with the commemoration of the anniversaries of the Revolution of the King and the People and the Youth Festival, aims to promote and preserve local intangible heritage, and includes artistic evenings hosted by emblematic figures of popular and modern music, as well as T’bourida shows.”

The program also includes a petanque tournament, with the participation of different clubs affiliated to the Royal Moroccan Petanque Federation, as well as a football tournament bringing together several football schools.

In addition, the organizers have set up a blood donation campaign, aiming to collect more than 500 bags of blood, to increase the availability of this vital substance.

On the cultural level, this edition of the festival is distinguished by the organization of a series of training workshops and intellectual conferences aimed at highlighting the past, present and future prospects of the province of Benslimane.
