VAfter initial difficulties and delays in the development of its own car software, olkswagen is changing the managerial staff of the responsible Cariad division. Among other things, the Bentley manager Peter Bosch should replace the previous boss Dirk Hilgenberg, the Wolfsburg announced on Monday.

According to reports, two former managers of the sports car manufacturer Porsche AG will also be appointed to the Cariad board: Thomas Günther, currently Senior Vice President Vehicle Motion & Energy at Cariad, and Sajjad Khan, whom Porsche hired from Mercedes-Benz just last year to develop their own vehicle software.

For VW boss Oliver Blume, who has been at the helm of Europe’s largest car manufacturer since September and has also remained boss of Porsche, the restructuring of Cariad is a central topic. Internal disagreements and the division’s overload led to delays in software platforms, which resulted in delays in several electric car models at Porsche and Audi and led to significant problems in VW’s ID model series.
