Now the entrance for visitors is open not only to the main premises of the temple, but also to the baptismal and wedding chapels. The vault of the Hohenzollern dynasty and the domed gallery will remain closed until a certain time due to the renovation work carried out there. Tickets for the Cathedral must be booked in advance and online. You can do this on the cathedral’s website.

The Cathedral is one of the main attractions of Berlin

Berlin Cathedral, one of the main attractions of the German capital, is the largest Protestant church in Germany and one of the most significant evangelical churches in the country. It was built between 1894 and 1905 by order of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The author of the building project is the German architect Julius Raschdorf. Today, in addition to the church, it includes a cathedral museum and a crypt, where the Hohenzollern family crypt is located.

The crypt where the Elector of Brandenburg Frederick William I (1640–1688), the Prussian king Frederick I (1657–1713) and his wife Sophia Charlotte (1668–1705) are buried, is one of the most significant dynastic burials in Europe. Its refurbishment will continue until 2023.
