Kannur> Veteran journalist and early communist activist PK Kunjananthan Nair (Berlin Kunjananthan Nair) passed away. He was 96 years old. He passed away at Narath’s house at 6 pm on Monday.

He entered politics as the first secretary of Bala Bharat Sangh, the first form of Bala Sangh. Bala Bharat Sangham was formed in 1938 in Kalyasheri. He was the youngest delegate to the First Congress of the Communist Party of India, which was formed in Bombay in 1943. He also participated in the first state conference of the Communist Party in 1943.

Narath was born on November 26, 1926 to Kolankata Ananthan Nair and Srideviamma. While studying at Chirakal Rajas School, he became active in the National Movement and the Communist Party through the Student Federation. Member of Communist Party cell since 1939. Became a full member in 42. In 1945-46, the party functioned secretly in Bombay. Worked in Kolkata in 1948 and Delhi Central Committee Office from 1953 to 1958. When the Communist Party split, he stood with the CPI-M.

From 1965 he was based in Berlin as the European correspondent for the weekly Blitz. With this, ‘Berlin’ became a part of the name. Also wrote in New Age, Desabhimani, Navayug, Navajeevan and Janyug newspapers. Many international subversion attempts by the American spy agency CIA have been exposed. The famous book ‘The Devil and His Whip’ describes the exploits of the CIA. He has received many honors and awards, including the Star of International Friendship from the East German government.
