Berlin – Berlin’s local transport network is to continue to grow – and Spandau, the westernmost district, will benefit from this again. A section of the Bötzowbahn, on which regular passenger traffic ended more than 71 years ago, should also be accessible by S-Bahn in the future. This finally connects the large residential area of Falkenhagener Feld to the Berlin rapid transit system. Now that the corresponding financing agreement has been concluded, the in-depth planning and cost estimates can begin, the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) announced on Friday. “The Spandau district urgently needs better rail connections,” said mobility senator Bettina Jarasch (Greens).
