jpnn.com – JAKARTA – Indonesian cyclist Bernard Van Aert has a great chance of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics after performing brilliantly in the 2024 Hong Kong UCI Track Nations Cup omnium event.
“Bernard Van Aert has a great chance of qualifying for Paris after finishing in 17th place in the UCI Track Nations Cup 2024 Hong Kong omnium number and will get an additional 192 points,” said Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee Raja Sapta Oktohari in a press release received in Jakarta, Sunday (17/3 ).
Oktohari, who also received the mandate to be chairman of the 2024 Paris Olympic Task Force, oversees and ensures the qualification process for athletes, including cyclist Bernard Van Aert.
Okto, Raja Sapta Oktohari’s nickname, said that Bernard still has a big chance of taking part in the 2024 Paris Olympics because there is still a championship to be participated in to add points, namely the UCI Track Nation Cup 2024 Canada.
Okto said that KOI looked at comprehensive aspects from all angles regarding athletes’ preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
According to him, Bernard Van Aert’s appearance is only in one sport that has the potential to reach the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“There are still many other sports that have potential and are trying to get tickets to Paris 2024,” said Okto.
