Una Pizza Napoletana Crowned Best in the U.S.for Third Time by 50 Top Pizza USA 2025
A definitive guide for pizza aficionados, the 50 Top Pizza USA 2025 list has once again recognized Una Pizza Napoletana in New York City as the nation’s premier pizzeria, marking its third consecutive year at the top.The annual ranking, considered one of the most respected in the global pizza community, also unveiled the best pizza-by-the-slice establishments and presented special awards celebrating excellence across various culinary aspects.
The Authority Behind 50 Top Pizza
50 Top Pizza is an annual publication created by a team of anonymous inspectors who evaluate pizzerias both domestically and internationally. The organization emphasizes that its evaluations center on “the overall attention given to the customer’s wellbeing, beginning of course with the quality of the final product.”
According to the guide’s curators, Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and albert Sapere, the American pizza landscape is evolving. “Year after year we are noticing changes in pizzerias across the United States,” they stated, “that have led to increasingly interesting ideas and that are good for the entire industry. we would also like to mention that the different styles of pizza that our inspectors get to enjoy are also getting more numerous, this is a good thing because it creates a wider variety for the customer.”
2025 Awards Ceremony & Top Rankings
The 2025 50 Top Pizza USA winners were announced on July 1st at the West Edge, located within chelsea Market in New York City. The event, hosted by Scott Wiener of Scott’s pizza Tours, was live-streamed across the guide’s social media platforms.
Una Pizza Napoletana, led by Anthony Mangieri, continues to set the standard for Neapolitan pizza in America.Pizzeria Sei in Los Angeles, under the direction of William Jootoo, secured second place, while Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, helmed by the renowned Tony Gemignani, claimed the third spot.
Rounding out the top ten were: Jay’s in Kenmore, Ribalta in New York, Robert’s in chicago, and Don Antonio in New York. Miami demonstrated strong representation with La Leggenda and ‘Or munaciello sharing the tenth position.
Celebrating the Best Pizza by the Slice
In addition to the overall rankings, the awards also highlighted the best pizza slices in the country. The Pizzeria Industries in New York, operated by Massimo Laveglia and Nick Baglivio, earned the top spot in this separate ranking. Slice & Pie in Washington, D.C., took second place, and Taglio in Mineola, New York, completed the top three.
Following the formal ceremony, attendees enjoyed a celebratory gathering at La Devozione NYC.
The top twelve pizzerias from the U.S.list,alongside the top three slice spots,will automatically qualify for inclusion in the prestigious 100 Best Pizzerias in the World ranking,scheduled to be unveiled at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples on September 8th.
