Given the large number of smartphone sales, the suspect sure that there is a fairly wide range of different phones among the ten best-selling devices. Market research firm Counterpoint Research showing the list now for the second quarter of this year: Once again Apple and Samsung dominate, the only other manufacturer managed to climb into the top ten. The iPhone continues to score, although not quite as strongly as in a direct comparison with the same period last year.

Apple and Samsung make the list
Amazing smartphones equipped with amazing functions can be found from many manufacturers, but that is often not enough for ten: In the second quarter of 2024, it is Apple and Samsung first whose devices are in high demand . The most popular Android smartphones are the Galaxy A15 5G and its 4G variant. The price of the Galaxy A55 (seventh place) is already noticeably lower than the premium models, while the Galaxy A05 (tenth place) is a comparatively cheap phone. Overall, premium products are strongly represented: Samsung’s flagship, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, achieved a market share of 1.4 percent, moving to ninth place. In addition to Apple and Samsung, only Xiaomi managed to make it to the top ten: the Redmi 13C impresses with its 50 megapixel camera, a 5,000 mAh battery and a 6.74-inch 90 Hertz display.

There are four iPhones in the situation
Apple is still the undisputed leader: iPhone 15 secures the first place with a market share of 4.1 percent, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro are behind. Compared to the second quarter of 2023, however, it is noteworthy that the previous owners are 0.1 percentage points ahead. Incidentally, there is no trace of Plus models in both years: according to company reports, sales are always weak among iPhone models. According to Counterpoint, premium smartphones will continue to be on the rise in the future: This is not least because of the upcoming iPhone 16 and the unrestricted compatibility with Apple Intelligence.
