Changing the commission calculation model took several months. This is one of the most important Marketplace projects implemented in recent years. It aims to fulfill several big goals.

“First of all, the goal of this project is to create such trading conditions that our Marketplace is the best place to trade in the Baltic States and Finland. Lower commissions allow sellers to be competitive, sell more and earn more. And after evaluating the entire infrastructure of the marketplace and the services and opportunities provided to sellers, I can confidently say that Pigu.lt Marketplace is currently the cheapest place to trade online,” says Jakub Stefanski, Pigu.lt Marketplace manager.

According to J. Stefanski, the second goal of the project is to meet the needs of buyers – to expand the range of goods and offer premium goods at competitive prices.

“We want all customers to find what they need in our e-commerce center, whether they are looking for economical products or well-known premium brands, so we hope that these changes will allow Baltic customers to purchase more branded and premium products branded products at better prices. We aim to ensure the best shopping experience for our customers – both in terms of assortment, prices and delivery,” says M. Stefanski.

According to the head of the “Pigu.lt” Marketplace, in order to expand the number and assortment of well-known premium class brands, the marketplace will introduce a new method of calculating commissions for this category of goods. From September 1, the amount of the commission will vary depending on the price of the product.

“For example, if the watch category used to have a commission of 15%, now it’s down to 10%.” But if the item costs more than 500 euros, only 5% commission will be applied. We hope that these innovations will encourage sellers to offer more high-end goods on our marketplace and thus meet the expectations of buyers,” explains J. Stefanski, the new commission application model.

Commission fees in the “Pigu.lt” Marketplace system will be recalculated automatically, without the sellers having to perform any additional actions. Commissions for all product categories are published publicly on the Internet – the full list can be found here.
