The French took advantage of the Easter weekend under the sun. The tradition of the egg hunt has, of course, been respected.
With their feet on the sand and their eyes riveted on the sea, in the Bay of Somme, like everywhere in France, holidaymakers savored the return of the sun on Sunday 17 April. “We enjoy the sun, the family, the grandchildren… What more could you ask for?“, confides a woman. Near the beach, the terraces are crowded for this first holiday without a mask or health pass. In Paris, where the sun also shone, the pollen claimed its first victims. In total, 50 departments were placed at high risk for birch allergy over the weekend.
In Guilers (Finistère), the egg hunt delighted the children. Small disappointment on the other hand in Colmar, in the Haut-Rhin: a giant rabbit of 8 kg, mascot of the Easter market, was stolen. The mayor has announced that he wants to file a complaint, while his kidnapper is still at large.
