A real race against time in public universities. The start of the school year for the 2023-2024 school year is set between December 11, 2023 and January 15, 2024. This concerns the 6 universities and 3 Higher Institutes of Technology (IST) on the Big Island.
The results of the first year entrance exams in universities, particularly in Antananarivo, have been posted for several days for certain faculties. Those admitted will have to hurry to register, although the procedures are often long and require more time.
Students are currently facing a hellish pace to make up for the 4 months of suspension of classes following the teachers’ strike. For the past two weeks, they have had to deal with remedial courses, passing exams as well as draft sessions.
In a department of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, courses scheduled to last around 15 hours had to be cut short in 3 hours, students testify. The objective is to be able to complete the grades before December 18 and to display the names of students admitted to the higher level as quickly as possible so that they can complete their re-registrations on time for the next academic year.
