The Acting Charge d’Affaires of the UN Mission, Stephanie Khoury, discussed with the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, Abdel Salam Zubi, the basic elements of the political process.
During a meeting at the ministry’s headquarters, the two parties agreed on the importance of maintaining stability and supporting the unification of military institutions, in addition to continuing close coordination at the technical level to move forward.
Khoury also discussed with the Minister of Interior in charge of the unity government,Imad trabelsi,the latest developments in the political process and the election file,in which she stressed the necessity of holding them as soon as possible.
Khoury stressed the need to maintain security and stability and the ministry’s efforts to strengthen law and order in Tripoli and othre cities,including efforts to combat crime and human trafficking.
In Benghazi,Khoury stressed to the commander of the Dignity Forces,Khalifa Haftar,the importance of advancing the political process to ensure the creation of appropriate conditions for holding presidential and parliamentary elections.
Khoury discussed with Haftar in his office in Benghazi the most prominent files related to the Libyan issue and the United Nations’ efforts to support stability in the country.
