Next weekend the Greek Cup matches of the 2nd phase will take place where PAS will play in Igoumenitsa against Graikohori while Thyella Katsika will welcome the historic team of Larissa.

The managers of the teams must be especially careful, as there are in the CAP and in the announcement some special provisions for the participation of players in the matches.
According to the announcement of the Greek Cup, in the Cup matches and with regard to the limitation of participation of some players, foreign or community, for each team what is provided by the regulations and the announcement of the championship that is competing shall apply.
First of all, according to article 8 of the announcement of the Cup, the Super League 2 teams and the amateur teams that won the EPS cups are obliged to declare on the match sheet, i.e. in the 20, two footballers under the age of 21. The date of birth is always taken as 1or January of the players birth year. For the 2024-25 season, this category includes those born from 01.01.2004 onwards.
Secondly, the restrictions for foreigners, community players as well as the mandatory participation of Greek players, as provided by the regulations and the CAP of the respective league that each team competes in, also apply.
For example, in Sunday’s match that will take place in Igoumenitsa, Spartakos Graikohoriou, because he is competing in a local amateur league, apart from two players under 18 years of age that he must declare on the match sheet, according to article 10 of the CAP throughout of the match should have in the eleven players 9 footballers who have the right to compete in Greek national teams or who have Greek citizenship (Greek identity card or passport). It is also allowed to register in the F.A. and the participation in the match of up to four (4) foreign footballers who are not entitled to compete in the Greek national teams and the participation in the match of up to two (2) foreign footballers throughout the match.
PAS Ioannina, as a team competing in Super League 2, apart from two players under the age of 18 that must be declared on the match sheet, should also apply what is provided for the Super League 2 championship and also apply to the Cup, specifically the provisions of article 19 par. 3 of the CAP: “In Super League 2, it is mandatory to participate in the eleven, of each team of the category, throughout the match of three (3) football players who have the right to compete in the Greek national teams or who have Greek citizenship (Greek identity card or passport). The maximum number of non-EU players allowed in the eleven of each team is four (4) players.
What applies to Spartakos Graikohori also applies to Thyella Katsika in Saturday’s match against Larissa and what applies to PAS also applies to the Thessalian team that competes in the same category.
Any violation is grounds for an appeal that carries penalties to the league as well. That is why the people of PAE and amateur groups should carefully study the regulations and the announcement to avoid mistakes and violations.
