Unreleased Beyoncé Music Stolen in Atlanta Car Theft During ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour

A representative for Beyoncé has been contacted for comment after unreleased music belonging to the artist was reportedly stolen from a vehicle in Atlanta, Georgia. The theft occurred last Tuesday while the “Single Ladies” singer was performing three shows in the city as part of her ongoing world tour promoting the critically acclaimed album, Cowboy Carter.

Details of the Atlanta Theft

According to an Atlanta Police Department press release issued Monday, authorities responded to a report of a break-in involving a Jeep Wagoneer. Investigators determined that two suitcases were stolen from the vehicle. Subsequent reports, citing police documents, indicate the stolen luggage contained unreleased music from Beyoncé, as well as detailed show plans.

The owners of the stolen suitcases have been identified as Christopher Grant, a choreographer for Beyoncé, and Diandre Blue, a dancer who also performs with the artist. The pair told police they parked the rental vehicle at a local food hall for approximately one hour before discovering the trunk window had been damaged and the suitcases were missing, the Associated Press reported.

Scope of the Stolen Materials

The stolen materials were reportedly stored on five hard drives, according to police documents. In addition to the unreleased audio, the theft included two MacBook laptops, Apple headphones, and a quantity of luxury clothing and accessories. Blue informed police that the hard drives contained “watermarked music, some unreleased music, footage plans for the show and the past and future set list,” ABC News reported.

Authorities have been actively pursuing the suspect. A laptop ping led investigators to a specific location, prompting a search of the area and a “suspicious person stop.” Police also stated that security cameras captured footage of the theft and yielded “two very light” fingerprints. As of late Monday afternoon, the thief remained at large.

Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour Continues

Beyoncé is scheduled to conclude her Atlanta run with a performance Monday night before heading to Las Vegas. She is slated to perform at Allegiant Stadium on July 25 and 26. Cowboy Carter represents a significant achievement for the artist, marking her eighth No. 1 album on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Furthermore, Beyoncé made history as the first Black woman to reach No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.

The investigation into the theft of the unreleased music remains ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
