[BGL Ligue] With Pit Simon, Mondorf declares the summer market open

by time news

The Luxembourg central defender of Racing has signed up for the next three seasons with USM, which signs the first transfer of the summer transfer window 2023.

After the Luxembourg international Dwayn Holter this winter, Mondorf will welcome another RFCU player. USM announced on Monday evening the signing, from next season and until 2026, of central defender Pit Simon (25).

Trained at Swift and then at FC Metz, the robust central defender (1.93m) has been playing since the summer of 2017 in the capital, which he is about to leave with – at least – two Luxembourg cups to his name (2018, 2022), an event where Racing is the title holder and still in the running for the round of 16 this year.

Already called at the Red Lions

Appeared more than 100 times in the Racing jersey (8 goals), including 7 in the league this season, Simon also wore that of the Luxembourg youth teams (U17 to U19), and was even called up three times by Luc Holtz for the A between May and October 2016, without however coming into play.

His transfer, the very first of the 2023 summer transfer window to be made official, is nonetheless a very good take on the part of USM, surprising 6th in the BGL Ligue after 23 days, and which is already asserting its ambitions for the next financial year.
