The Board of Directors of the State Fund “Agriculture” (DFZ) approved BGN 18,000 in aid de minimis for farmers to cover the costs of mandatory quality control measures for protected designation of origin “Strandjanski manov honey”/”Manov honey from Strandzha”.

The purpose of the minimum aid is, on the one hand, to support the current producers of honey honey, and on the other hand, to attract more new farmers to extract the unique bee elixir. Strandzha manov honey has a protected designation of origin and is found only in the region of Strandzha mountain. The scheme will help preserve traditions and livelihoods in the region.

Producers of “Strandzhanski manov honey” who have concluded a contract for the control of compliance of the product with an approved specification with a controlling person are eligible for support, as well as are entered in the public electronic registers of the producers of the relevant products with protected names, which are maintained by Ministry of Agriculture.

The aid for a producer is in the amount of BGN 1,800 including VAT and is provided to cover the costs of control for compliance with the product specification, including costs for a mandatory annual on-site inspection by a control person for compliance control and laboratory analysis of the product when the mandatory annual inspection.

The State Fund “Agriculture” is to prepare instructions together with the competent directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture, which the Minister of Agriculture must approve.
