Biathlon: the program and TV broadcast for the first stage of the World Cup in Östersund

After several months, the Biathlon World Cup is back for a 2023-2024 edition during which the French Team will be keen to perform. Among the men, Quentin Fillon Maillet will return with a spirit of revenge, he who did not finish on the podium during the last edition, a first since 2018-2019. Among the women, Julia Simon will have to fight to retain her title of world champion in the general classification obtained last year, to the detriment of the Italian Dorothea Wierer, twice crowned with the crystal globe.

The first stage will therefore take place from November 25 to December 4, on the Swedish site of Östersund which opens the competition for the seventeenth time since the year 2000. The prestigious stadium hosts a stage of the competition each year, on the contrary from France which will not receive any stage this year. On the program for this stage, all disciplines, with the exception of mass start, will be in the spotlight: relay, sprint, pursuit and individual. Your biathlon weekend will consist of the single mixed relay, on Saturday November 25 at 12:30 p.m., then the mixed relay, still Saturday but at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, November 26, the women’s individual events will take place at 11:20 a.m. and men’s events at 2:30 p.m.

Saturday November 25: single mixed relay (12:30 p.m.), mixed relay (2:50 p.m.)

Sunday November 26: Women’s individual (11:20 a.m.), Men’s individual (2:30 p.m.)

Wednesday November 29: ladies relay (3:20 p.m.)

Thursday, November 30: men’s relay (3:20 p.m.)

Friday December 1: ladies sprint (2:45 p.m.)

Saturday December 2: men’s sprint (2:45 p.m.)

Sunday December 3: women’s pursuit (2 p.m.), men’s pursuit (4 p.m.)

All of the events will be broadcast on the L’Équipe channel.

For the remainder of the competition, Austria will host the second stage in Hochfilzen, the third will take place in Lenzerheide in Switzerland, the fourth in Oberhof and the fifth in Ruhpolding in Germany. Italy will host the sixth stage in Antholz-Anterselva, preceding the World Championships in Nove Mesto in the Czech Republic. The World Cup will resume in Oslo, Norway with the seventh stage, before heading to the United States, more precisely to Soldier Hollow, for the eighth stage and finishing the competition in Canmore, Canada, for the final stage, in March 2024.
